1990s

During the 1990’s, IWHC’s Mobile Health Clinic Program expanded to include community agencies, ESL schools and religious organizations. The idea was to locate and give access to services to the most vulnerable and hardest-to-reach populations. IWHC worked in partnership with labour unions, the AIDS Committee of Toronto, HIV Prevention Grants, Pride Toronto, York Central Hospital and a variety of other community partners. The organization served a variety of languages including: Greek, Farsi, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Polish, Croatian, Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Italian through peer counsellor.

IWHC Toronto is a sexual health clinic serving immigrant, refugee and marginalized clients across the City of Toronto. Our free clinical services are available at our site clinic in downtown Toronto and also through our Mobile Health Clinic Program with a multilingual, all-female staff; our services are provided in a culturally sensitive environment.
